Tallahassee, Florida (August 20, 2013) – Tallahassee area residents and professionals concerned about recent online privacy revelations will have an opportunity to learn how to take control of their online data during a free session at Lively Technical Center on Sept. 17 beginning at 3:30 p.m.

“Online Privacy: How to Control Your Personal Data” is the first in a monthly series of free technology information and discussions, Tech Talk Tuesdays, hosted by Lively Technical Center and sponsored by Tallahassee-based Reciprocate LLC. Tech Talk Tuesdays events are free and open to the public; registration is encouraged.  Reciprocate LLC’s President and Technology Consultant, Karen Emanuelson, is this month’s featured presenter.

“In this first Tech Talk Tuesdays session, I’ll discuss practical ways to stop over sharing of personal data online,” said Emanuelson.  According to Emanuelson, one of the simplest ways to protect personal data is to understand privacy settings on popular social media networks such as Facebook.

“I’ll show attendees how to see what they are sharing online – through Facebook and other social media sites – and how they can control and change their privacy settings,” said Emanuelson. She will also discuss ways to create and remember unique and secure passwords for additional security.

There will be time for participant discussion and Q&A. Details and registration for the Sept. 17 session are available at http://bit.ly/LTC-OnlinePrivacy.

Karen Emanuelson is the president of Reciprocate LLC, a Tallahassee-based marketing and technology consulting company.
